Created to support breast cancer awareness this “Allison” necklace features the new breast cancer commemorative coin released from the US Mint in March of 2018.  This proof quality coin is .999 silver and is surrounded with a custom made bezel. It is hung on a strand of large, high luster freshwater pearls.  The pearls were carefully selected for their luster and their pink color.

The necklace is made with either 12-14 mm round white pearls with a single pink pearl accent at the back, 10-12 mm irregular white pearls with multiple pink pearl accents or all 9-10 mm pink pearls. All the findings and toggle clasp are sterling silver. The total necklace length is 19”-20”

The coin has two interesting designs.  The obverse side features an older woman who has her hands on her chest and a relieved expression on her face. The younger woman, with a scarf on her head, holds one hand over her chest and the other raised in a fist as if she is ready to fight. A butterfly flies above the two women. The reverse side depicts a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly in flight, a symbol of hope.

The necklace was designed by Lee Foster and is handmade in the USA.
